Just in case it interests anyone, I recently did some testing of a ghillie base at my local airsoft site, Dirty Dog Airsoft, and made a couple of very short videos.

It’s important when making a ghillie to not just observe it at 1 metre range, but to drop it into different places and walk around at up to 50 metres to see how it works at distance. Some leaf suits and other bases with repeat printed patterns, especially those of similar colours, can blob together into one solid outline. Testing like this also helps you to identify problems and work on corrections.
